OUR STORY
Brooklyn Learning Lab formed with the help of four women: Carol, Josephine, Tiffany, and Tricia. We see children's potential in low-income Brooklyn communities overshadowed by narratives spotlighting academic failure and poverty. All four co-founders, immigrants from third world countries, believe children need access to a safe education space inside their community to learn and grow. We believe children's educational experiences should inspire them to explore, experiment and tinker with their own learning for academic success. We created Brooklyn Learning Lab to build Brooklyn schoolchildren's academic and digital capacities over time to power their futures.
OUR APPROACH
Brooklyn Learning Lab is a K-12 education organization formed to uncover and expose Brooklyn schoolchildren's learning potential. We feel society's emphasis on accountability and higher learning standards limit the academic capabilities of Brooklyn's children. Brooklyn Learning Lab believes learning for the future will require children to learn creatively, think critically, and live curiously.
